Day 35: Flanders, NJ
The tree lined country road barely has two lanes
The serene path narrows and dips straight ahead
Inviting everyone with a silence that has no name
Captivated by nature’s beauty… my inner spirit is led
Sunbeams filters through branches that are interlocked
The glorious canopy spills patches of light on gr...avel
A breeze flutters through lush leaves… heat is blocked
Carefree visitors are protected as they leisurely travel
The peaceful scene is one that will forever remain
In memories that hold the splendor of quieter days
Today cars race on the highway… speed is maintained
The intense glare upon the pavement directs the way

Day 15
“No, Jonathan, there is no such place. Heaven is not a place, and it is not a time. Heaven is being perfect.”
- Jonathan Livingston Seagull
I took this shot on Staten Island after getting off the ferry from Manhattan. Seagulls there are so friendly that they can eat off your hands... I used to imagine seagulls were small, like pigeons; the first time I saw them in Atlantic City, I was more than surprised... those things were larger then chickens. Nonetheless, adorable creatures, but they can get really annoying if you have food with you.
Do take the ferry from Manhattan (Hey, its free!) to Staten Island and explore the region. It is very beautiful and it ain't as congested and crowded as Manhattan; They view of the skyline from there is stunning too...

Day 9:
I was experimenting with water on leaves. I saw a similar picture on the Canon 50D group and I was attempting to take a picture similar to that. I couldn't get the shot I wanted because of two things,
1. No adequate light outside (6:00 PM),
2. I don't have a fast Macro lens.
Nonetheless, I could get such a close-up shot only after cropping the original. There is noise in the background, and I believe that is because of a) High ISO (1600) and b) Low resolution (3.7 MP)

Day 8:
This is a painting by Gayathri Rao, I'm just the photographer. I tried to reproduce the picture as much as the original was, but the beauty lies in the real thing.

It was Holi today, so we played colors; I was playing after 3 years. It was fun, and a different experience; you don't always get to play Holi with colored snow balls. The way those kids pelted me, I probably have a couple of welts on my back :D
Nonetheless, it was fun - the usual good desi food and lots of sweets. Hot tea after a snow-fight is the best thing in the world; hot chocolate and marshmallows can take second place.

Day 5
We had 14 inches snow by evening today. Another 18-24 inches predicted by tomorrow evening.. This is our neighbor's bench, and the way it is going to snow tonight and tomorrow, it will be so gone.. I will try to get a similar picture tomorrow for you guys to compare.
So, I was trying bring the car up the driveway; It is a Minivan, front wheel drive. It went up fine for a bit alright, but it then hit an ice patch and started skidding. Now the interesting part is, when a car starts skidding, it behaves in ways totally unexpected; In my case, it started spinning like a top. I spun down the drive-way, in to the cul-de-sac, where I hit the snowbank and stopped.. However I try, I just couldn't get it up, so I threw my hands in the air and gave up. Rajukaka, with all his years of experience got it up with ease, while I was clicked this picture.

Day 4: Nixon Elementary
I took this picture while my cousin was playing Basketball at Nixon Elementary. It snowed really hard, and the snow flakes themselves were the size of baseballs. Weather tomorrow seems to be dicey, or so they say on the NEWS. 18 inches to 2 feet of snow with 70 MPH wind gusts.

Day 3:
This is me usually at the end of the day; particularly today. The snow was bad.. we got about two inches in less than an hour... If it wasn't for the M, I would have either been totaled, got stuck in a ditch, or crashed into a snow bank. Cheers for the three pointed star!!!

Day 2:
This is the cutest sign I have ever seen. I took this shot in Poco's Restaurant at Doylestown, PA. The food was not that great, or maybe it was just my quesadilla. Try eating a Cheese quesadilla with broccoli, zucchini and lettuce, and you will know what I'm talking about it. The strawberry margarita (Virgin, might I add :p) wasn't that great either.. too tangy for my taste buds. So it was Kishan Mama's birthday and we had the waiting staff give a hearty birthday cheer for him. The mud-pie they brought in was......can't really find the words to describe it. I wouldn't mind celebrating my birthday every week for that cake.
